Amazing news is flashing now is, New York City in USA Announced Diwali As School Holiday.

The festival of lights known as Diwali will soon be recognised as a school holiday in New York City, according to the local government there.

They referred to it as a “victory” for all of the city’s citizens, particularly the Indian neighbourhood. The governor will undoubtedly sign this bill into law, the mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, declared from City Hall on Monday. According to Adams, “This is a victory for New York as well as the men and women of the Indian community and all communities that celebrate Diwali.” View to learn more!

It used to be uncommon to find articles on Diwali in American publications. Nobody appeared to understand what it was or even how to say the word!

A member of the Association of Indians in America (AIA), the oldest Indian community organisation in America, took young girls dressed in Indian ghagras carrying lit diyas to The New York Times office to explain Diwali and invite them to visit during the festival thirty years ago when the AIA held its first Diwali Mela in New York’s South Street Seaport.
